The “Rules” for a finisher:

Finishers can be used as a stand-alone “conditioning” session on non-lifting days or they can be used as a SHORT 5-10 minute “conditioning” segment at the end of a lifting session. Either way, they replace traditional steady-state “cardio”. If you aren’t sweating and out of breath, you’re doing these wrong – they are designed to provide an immense metabolic effect effect while also training the muscles and mind – a combination that helps turn you into a machine-like warrior with a lean, chiseled body that is prepared for anything the Zombie Apocalypse (or your sport) can throw at you!

3 Finishers You Can Do Today

From Video 1 Above (Strongman Medley):

  1. Tire Flip x 3-5reps
  2. Heavy Ass Sled Drag x 30-40 yds
  3. Prowler Push x 30-40 yds
  4. Farmer’s Walk x 60-80 yds
  5. Do 3-5 rounds

 Backstreets (Awesome on Back or “pull” days)

  1. Cleans x 5
  2. Pull-ups x 5
  3. Perform the prescribed reps of each movement every minute, on the minute, for 6 minutes (EMOTM x 6)
Into The Fire
  1. Snatch x 4 (you can do high pulls if you prefer)
  2. HSPU (Hand Stand Push Up) x 2 (If you can’t do HSPU, do 8 Pushups – adding weight or on rings for more challenge)
  3. EMOTM x 6 minutes
**You DO NOT have to use Strongman equipment to perform finishers. (They just make for cool videos, so that’s why you see them above!) In fact, 90% of the Finishers we do are NOT Strongman related. You can do finishers with dumbbells, barbells, plates, kettlebells, bodyweight…WHATEVER you have access to!**
